The Acclamator-I class assault cruiser or the Acclamator-class assault cruiser, sometimes known as the Acclamator-class Star Destroyer, Acclamator-class assault ship, the assault cruiser, Acclamator-class transgalactic military assault ship and commonly known as the Republic assault ship is a cruiser used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars era. They make a comeback for the Galactic Empire during The Last of the Droids era. These ships are now painted grey instead of red for the Empire.
Characteristics[]
Weapons[]
The Acclamator-class has many weapons on top of the cruiser and under it. The Acclamator has 24 Point-defense laser cannons and 12 Quad turbolasers. This made the Acclamator powerful during battles. The Acclamator-class assault cruiser also has 4 Proton torpedo tubes that carry 100 Proton Torpedoes.
Command Center[]
The Acclamator's Control bridge is located far in the back just like a Venator-class Star Destroyer or an Imperial-I class Star Destroyer. The Acclamator-class assault cruiser control bridge had many Clone Troopers manning it and its design was similar to the Munificent-class star frigate but smaller. The Acclamator still has the same bridge when the Galactic Republic reformed into the Galactic Empire Imperial Crews manned the Acclamator. The Acclamator did have a stand for a Clone Admiral and Imperial Officer to command the battle.
Complement[]
The Acclamator-class during the Clone Wars could carry many things. It carried, 80 LAAT line gunships which were 66 Republic Gunships and 14 Republic Carriers, 320 BARC Speeders, 48 AT-TE walkers, greater than 156 V-19 Torrent Starfighters, 40 BTL-B Y-Wing Starfighters, and 15 ARC-170 Starfighters. This made the Republic use these as carriers when heading into the battle. When they were used for the Empire, Acclamators carry... 80 Sentinel-class landing crafts, 20 Imperial Transports, 320 74-Z Speeder Bikes, 48 AT-AT walkers, AT-ST walkers, greater than 156 TIE Fighters, 40 TIE Bombers, and 15 TIE Hunters. This makes the Imperials bring only a few Acclamators during invasions. The Acclamators have cell bays and numerous hallways. They also have shuttle racks for Sentinel and Imperial Shuttles.
Role[]
The Acclamator has many different roles. During the Clone Wars, the Acclamator was a Troop transport, Carrier, Fighter Carrier, and a Cruiser. During the Imperial Era and The Last of the Droids, Acclamators are still Troop transports, Fighter Carriers, and Cruisers. The only thing that made Acclamators different for the Galactic Empire is they are Destroyers and can fight along with Imperial-I class Star Destroyers, Imperial-II class Star Destroyer, and Victory-class Star Destroyers.
