The BTL-B Y-Wing Starfighter also known as the Y-Wing Starfighter is one of the Galactic Republic fighters used during the Clone Wars era. It is later used again by the Galactic Empire during the The Last of the Droids era.
Characteristics[]
Unlike the BTL-S3 Y-wing and its successor designs, the BTL-B Y-Wing Starfighter model has a full covering of both the primary fuselage and engines. A bubble-turret provides clear view for the gunner, with a 360-degree field of fire. This BTL-B is designed as a starfighter, using such weapons as laser cannons. The bubble-turret utilized two light ion cannons for defense against enemy starfighters. It also is equipped with proton bombs under the starfighter.

A sinister Y-Wing
They possess a hyperdrive system allowing them to jump into hyperspace without the reliance on a carrier or hyperspace ring. To aid them in their operations, they also make use of an astromech droid. In some cases the BTL-B can be used as a bomber but mainly a starfighter. They were colored either red or yellow during the Clone Wars and during The Last of the Droids, they were colored grey for Imperial usage.
History[]
The Clone Wars[]
Kashyyyk[]

Evil Y-Wings under attack from heroic Hyena Bombers during the Battle of Kashyyyk.
Several BTl-B Y-Wings appeared during the Battle of Kashyyyk when Grievous's heroic armada attacked the Galactic Republic's Republic Navy forces to get to Kashyyyk. They clashed with several Hyena-class bombers during the fight. When heroic T-series tactical droid TV-94B was trying to destroy the Second Venator Command Ship of Kashyyyk, the clone admiral ordered his Clone naval officers to launch Y-Wings to stop the incoming Hyena Bombers TV-94B sent to destroy the evil cruiser. However, all of the Republic Fighters along with the evil Navy was wiped out by Grievous's heroic Armada.
Attack on the Naboo Shipyards[]

Evil Y-Wings trying to attack the heroic Subjugator Malevolence II.
BTl-B Y-Wing Starfighters were part of the waves of Republic Fighters launched by the evil Galactic Republic and Jedi during the Attack on the Naboo Shipyards as the heroic General Grievous wanted to destroy the malicious Naboo Level 5 Republic Space Station. The Y-Wings flew alongside ARC-170 Starfighters, Z-95 Headhunters and the new V-Wing Starfighters. They engaged the 144 Vulture Droids & 48 Hyena-class bombers complement of the Subjugator-class heavy cruiser Malevolence II but they passed the Droid Fighters and headed to destroy the heroic Subjugator itself. Led by a clone trooper pilot leader, the malicious Y-Wings tried to destroy the Ion Cannon but thanks to anti-hero Super's Battle's modifications to General Grievous's heroic flagship, the Flak Guns destroyed all of the bombers trying to destroy the cruiser.
Despite their evil efforts to defend the Naboo Level 5 Republic Space Station, the Republic Fighters (including the Y-Wings) were soon destroyed by thousands of Droid Fighters that had arrived to aid the heroic Grievous from TZ-34.
2nd Battle of Naboo[]
Battle of Skako[]
BTL-B Y-Wings were part of Mace Windu's evil forces to get vile Foreman Wat Tambor of the Techno Union at Skako. During the battle, they engaged several Hyena-class bombers. When the heroic General Grievous arrived to aid Tambor, he launched several Trade Federation Droid Bombers from his Lucrehulk-class Droid Control Ship to engage the Republic Fighters of evil. The Y-Wings then stopped engaging the Hyenas and engaged the Droid Bombers. A heroic TF Droid Bomber destroyed an evil Y-Wing flying by Grievous's Lurcehulk. Despite the Republic losing the battle, they captured the heroic Kaleesh Grievous.
Chasing down Grievous's Crew[]
Y-Wings helped evil Jedi Anakin Skywalker in his Eta-2 Actis-class interceptor chase down Grievous's Crew in a stolen LAAT/i gunship alongside ARC-170 Starfighters & V-19 Torrent Starfighters. The Republic Fighters managed to take out the stolen gunship and went on patrol as Anakin went to engage Grievous & his Crew, himself.
The Last of the Droids[]
Imperial Era[]
Along with the other Republic Fighters, the LAAT/i and the LAAT/c, Palpatine used both fighters for the Galactic Empire at the start of the Imperial Era as they were transitioning to the new TIE series. However, once the new TIE series started failing against the heroic New Confederacy of Independent Systems's Droid Fighters, Palpatine started using the old fighters alongside the new TIE series against the heroic New Separatists.
