The DSD1-Dwarf Spider Droid or the Dwarf Spider Droid is a Battle droid made by the Commerce Guild but was used for the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars era. They make a comeback for the New Confederacy of Independent Systems helping Trench destroy the Galactic Empire during The Last of the Droids era.

The Dwarf Spider Droid's function is like that of a typical combat vehicle. Its main weapon is its long central blaster cannon that could fire either rapid-fire anti-personal rounds, or slower-rate high-intensity blasts that could destroy light craft. Its legs, which are adjustable, are designed to be able to go up and down walls and narrow cliffsides. Due to the cannon, however, it is unable to turn around to track its enemies, putting it at a disadvantage to speedy targets. The length of the cannon also hindered it in small, confined areas, as Anakin Skywalker exploited once.
The droid usually communicates in a beeping language, and is also able to feel some emotion, such as frustration.

Battle in the Conqueror[]
Dwarf Spider Droids first appeared fighting the 501st Legion alongside B1 Battle Droids, B2 Super Battle Droids, B2-HA Super Battle Droids, OOM Commander Battle Droids, Armored Assault Tanks, Corporate Alliance Tank Droids, and Platoon Attack Crafts. The DSD1-Dwarf Spider Droids stayed far in the back killing several 501st Stormtroopers. When the Droids forces were being destroyed, Trench ordered the Dwarfs to hold off the AT-STs while they sent for more reinforcements. The Dwarf Spider Droids took their orders and fought the AT-STs. They destroyed some, but even they were suffering heavy losses. When the PACs and CATDs arrived the Dwarfs pressed on their attack as the AT-STs, the 501st Stormtroopers, and the 501st Scout Troopers were pushed back and destroyed.
Hoth[]
At least one derelict dwarf spider droid was on Hoth, where it was used by the Empire for target practice at a Cold Assault Stormtrooper training camp.
