IG-122 is the leader of a IG-100 MagnaGuard special deployment under the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars and later the New Confederacy of Independent Systems during The Last of the Droids.

IG-122 and two MagnaGuards on Umbara
He is a merciless droid, he shows absolutely no mercy towards his enemies, both in space combat and ground combat much like Akeno Himejima. When he comes up to a Republic member and later Imperial member, he mercilessly kills the villains with his Electrostaff, or orders his IG-100 MagnaGuards to do it. However he does have a merciful side, as he always wants to protect his allies including Grievous and the Confederacy of Independent Systems/New Confederacy of Independent Systems from the evil Galactic Republic/Galactic Empire. When IG-122 slaughters his enemies, his thirst for killing is like the fallen Jedi Pong Krell's killing of Clone troopers. He is a feared Jedi hunter. IG-122 sometimes believes his Battle droids are sometimes "naive" because they always question orders when they should think by themselves.
