The IG-227 Hailfire-class droid tank, also known as the Hailfire-class droid tank or Hailfire Droid, is a droid tank used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars era. These Droid Tanks were first tested on Geonosis where they proved effective against Republic walkers, but were easily destroyed by aerial forces. They later make a comeback for the New Confederacy of Independent Systems during The Last of the Droids era fighting against the evil Galactic Empire.
Characteristics[]
The Hailfire droid tank is a self-aware mobile missile platform capable of destroying entire platoons of soldiers and enemy vehicles such as the AT-TE. Due to its large, hoop-like wheels, it is able to cross virtually any terrain at an impressive speed.
The Hailfire droid is also very well equipped, and boasts an impressive range of weapons. It has missile launchers fitted on each side of its head, carrying 15 missiles in each one, and it has been proven to be effective against other armored units. Each droid had a retractable laser cannon that it would use against "soft" targets such as infantry or civilians.
