The Single Trooper Aerial Platform (STAP) is an agile flying machine used by Confederacy of Independent Systems B1 Battle Droids during the Clone Wars era. STAPs were first used by the Trade Federation during the Pre-Clone Wars era and were painted brown. When the Trade Federation joined to Confederacy, STAPs were painted blue, white, and grey for the Confederacy. The Single Trooper Aerial Platforms make a comeback for the New Confederacy of Independent Systems during The Last of the Droids era, helping Trench & Grievous defeat the evil Galactic Empire.

Characteristics[]

Weapons and Design[]

Single Trooper Aerial Platforms are similar in design to personal repulsorlift airhooks used for both civilian and military purposes. Designed to travel fast, the STAP's only weapon is a twin blaster cannon connected to it. High voltage energy cells powered the machine.

Crew[]

Each STAP is piloted by a single person/droid that stood on a long foot panel, gripping a pair of handles that controlled its weapons and are used to pilot the craft. B1 battle droids usually piloted STAPs but in some cases, OOM security battle droids, BX-series droid commandos or IG-100 MagnaGuards could pilot them. STAPs utilized by the Trade Federation prior to the Clone Wars tended to be brown in color; Separatist STAPs are predominantly blue with white triangular markings however, some STAPs during the Clone Wars were still painted brown.
